Elizabeth “Betty” A. Bauer nee Dorman, 85 of Addison. Beloved wife of the late Joseph. Loving mother of Theresa (David) Pettineo, Beverly (Laurence) Gorenz, Linda Bauer and Ronald (Melissa) Bauer. Dearest grandmother of Benjamin, Joseph (Josh Black), Matthew and Jacob. Dear sister of the late Adeline (the late Johnny) Dees, the late Thomas (the late Helen) Dorman, the late Robert (the late Delores) Dorman, the late Dolores Dorman, Mary (the late Chuck) Pozeck, and Monica (the late Roy) Diehl. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Betty was preceeded in death by her son-in-law Bill Stone.
Betty was deeply religious and a proud member of St. Philip’s church and the Addison community since 1967. She enjoyed helping out at church with bake sales, pancake breakfasts, fashion shows, and was voted Woman of the Year in 1984 for the Council of Catholic Women. She also sang in the choir for many years and instilled a love of music in her children.
She worked as a secretary for a short time, but most of her life was devoted to raising her family and then enjoying watching her grandchildren with her husband Joe after he retired.
Being the social person she was, she cherished family get-togethers and social outings with her close friends. She had a great sense of humor and would often have silly antics when she was with her siblings or make funny faces when smiling for the camera.
In her later years, she enjoyed attending craft classes and painting folk art, working on puzzles, word searches, and coloring with her caregivers.
She’ll be forever in our hearts.
