Howard "Howie" Marunde Sr. 82 formerly of Addison. Beloved husband of Lory nee Reinke. Loving father of Howard Jr. (Carol), Daniel (Debbie), Diane (Tony) Christian, Tammy, and Tom (Pam) Marunde. Dearest grandfather of 13. Great grandfather of 7. Dear brother of Jeanette (Don) Diehl, Lincoln (Jan), Kenneth (Maryellen), Beverly (Bill) Bayes and the late William Jr. (Lorraine) Marunde. Visitation Saturday, 2-8 PM at Humes Funeral Home, 320 W. Lake, Addison (2 Mi. W of Rt. 83, 2 Mi. E. of Rt. 53) Interment private at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. For info, www.HumesFH.com or 630.628.8808Howie, a long time resident of Addison, Illinois died at home is Coal City, Illinois, where he and his wife Lory spend their summers. Howard was the son of William and Eleanor Marunde, born of October 18, 1928 in Bensenville. After high school, Howard was proud to serve in Korea for 2 ½ years with the United States Army. He was an electrical lineman with Commonwealth Edison Company for 35 years. He was a dedicated employee who did not like to take sick days and was willing to work when called upon at night and during stormy weather. Howard was also a volunteer fireman for the Addison Fire Protection District, where he received a watch for 30 years of service. Howard retired in 1988 and moved to Woodstock, Illinois. Howard and Lory spent their winter months very active at Sunflower Resort in Surprise, Arizona. While living in the RV park, he played horseshoes, baseball, and started Howie's Cactus Patch Garden. He was head usher and served on the Sunflower Church board for 4 years, and a member of the Addison VFW Post #7446.
