John Simon Mischenko

John Simon Mischenko of Mt. Prospect passed in the early hours of May 21, 2022 at the age of 85. He is survived by his beloved wife Maria nee Voronovska and their children Simon and Natalie. He is the dear brother of two sisters: Olga (the late John) Stryzakowski and Grace (the late Nicholas) Krasno, and three brothers: Nicholas (Valentina) Mischenko, George (Victoria) Mischenko and Peter (Irina) Mischenko. He is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Born in Ukraine, he was a proud Ukrainian and was an active volunteer of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and a supporter of a free Ukraine.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to support Ukraine may contribute to " Selfreliance Foundation Relief Fund ".

Visitation Tuesday, 5 PM until time of Panachyda, 7 PM at Humes Funeral Home, 320 W. Lake St., Addison (2 Mi. W. of Rt. 83, 2 Mi. E. of Rt. 53. Meet at St. Andrew Ukrainian Orthodox Church for a funeral service at 10 AM. Interment St. Andrew Ukrainian Cemetery.
