Norma Jean Levy

Norma Jean Levy (nee Tomlin) was born on July 25, 1938 and passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2018. Norma was a resident of Addison, Illinois where she moved in 2006 to be closer to Sari at the time of passing. Survived by her son Craig (Ann) Williams, daughter & best friend Sari Levy, Grandmother to Chad Williams and Sugar. Cherished by nieces Marie, Sandy, Rochelle, Sherri and nephews Albert and Michael and countless friends & known as "Da Mom" to many surrogate daughters. Barb and Louise were both nearly lifelong best friends. Norma loved life and taking care of others, including dogs, especially senior dogs who were often unwanted. Sally, Bella and Cinnamon greeted her with wagging tales, for sure! She lived each day to the fullest and brightened every room she entered with her infectious smile and sense of humor.Born in Ottumwa Iowa in 1938, she was orphaned along w/her beloved siblings Marilyn, Gordon & Sandra who preceded her in death along w/her husband Sam & son in law Dan O. Norma was a longtime Chicago resident living. With Sam passing young, Norma raised Craig and Sari on her own and she worked in marketing research at Gillette, Luhrs where she was VP, & Rabin Research. Norma was made of steel & overcame many adversities, fought (and won) countless medical battles and recently beat Cancer and complete organ failure and 15 days on a ventilator so she could give us all 9 more months with her. One of a kind, her spirit will be long celebrated. Memorial Service Saturday March 3rd 2018 @ 3PM, visitation 1-4 PM @ Humes Funeral Home 320 W Lake, Addison IL, followed by pizza at Pyramid.Donations made will be forwarded to one or more of Norma's favorite animal charities, such as Mobile Mutts Rescue and Heffer organization.
